Klout and Bay Area Girl Geek Dinners would like to invite you to celebrate Valentine’s Eve with the most influential girl geeks of the Bay Area! ! Mark your calendars for Wednesday, February 13, 2013 at Klout's HQ in SOMA!
The theme of the night will be “embracing your journey.” Enjoy refreshing Kloutinis and +Kocktails as we share who we are, the Klout story, what we’re building, the user paradigm, and what it’s like to be a girl geek at Klout. There will be demos, breakout sessions, plenty of delicious food, and a photo-booth!

Meet The Speakers:
Melanie Goetz, (Research Engineer)
Speaker Bio: Melanie Goetz is a Research Engineer at Klout on the Monetization team, which means she actively uses Hive, MapReduce, and Scala. She studied Linguistics and CS at MIT, and later attended graduate school at UPenn, where she studied CS with a focus on machine learning and natural language processing. In previous lives, she has worked with ATR, Toshiba, ETS, Linguistic Data Consortium, and Oracle.
Yize Li, (Software Engineer)
Speaker Bio: Yize Li has been with Klout since June 2012 as a Software Engineer. She primarily focuses on backend building by applying NLP and Machine Learning techniques to discover users’ influence, interests, and expertise. Prior to joining Klout, she worked with StumbleUpon as a Research Engineer.
Daisy Liu, (Software Engineer)
Speaker Bio: Daisy Liu is a CS graduate that hails from the University of Waterloo in Canada. As a software engineer, Daisy is using Backbone.js, HTML, and CSS to build the front-end
Klout.com experience. She's also leveraging node.js and MongoDB on the server.
Christine Nguyen, (Software Engineer)
Speaker Bio: Christine is a Front End Engineer at Klout and a proud UC Berkeley alum. Previously an intern at Klout, she loved it so much that she came back for more. She is Klout’s newest team member.
Katelin Holloway (Director of People & Culture)
Speaker Bio: Katelin joined the Klout team 2 years ago Valentine’s Day. As to be expected, she’s fallen madly in love with the team. Her journey includes a 5 year stint at Pixar Animation Studios, a layover at advertising giant McCann Worldgroup, and surviving a particularly wily bunch of first graders as an elementary school teacher. As for Katelin and Klout, they plan on living happily ever after.
Michelle Riles, (Lead User Operations Associate )
Speaker Bio: Michelle Riles single-handedly manages user operations support at Klout. Before joining the Klout team, she worked with users at the female-centric group coupon site, Plum District. Passionate about creating the best possible user experience, Michelle enjoys bringing smiles to users, one insight at a time.
Sahana Ullagaddi (Community Manager)
Speaker Bio: Sahana leads Klout’s community and social marketing strategy. She is fascinated by learning about what drives people to build relationships with brands. She is passionate about telling stories, connecting people through technology, and creating user happiness. In the past she has worked with EMC, Sumazi, Boeing, and Unilever. She is also a self-proclaimed laughaholic and inspiration addict.
